  1. who said u needed camp just make your own drills that help your weak points

  2. just go to the nearby court and just start shootin' you can either watch other players and learn from them

  3. motivate yourself and do it urself. stop relying on ur parents and acting like a baby

  4. Don't rely on others to make you better. Work for it. Work on your shooting by yourself. Take a couple hundred shots per day. Work on your ball handling. Run suicide drills and work on moving your feet in a defensive stance. Get some books about how to improve at basketball.

Play in as many pick-up games as you can and think the whole time. Pay close attention to what good players are doing. On defense, try to identify passing lanes and cut them off. On offense, try to identify open spots on the court where you could score easily.

Most of all, NO EXCUSES. If you are waiting for someone else to make you good, it's never going to happen.

  5. tell your parents you want that. save money and buy the hoop.

stay after hours at school to practice.

talk to your school's coach and principal. they will help you and bring your parent's the their senses.

  6. Carry a ball with you every where you go. Dribble left and right handed to get more experience. Play against tougher competition to make your skills improve. Ask the basketball coach for a list of drills you can practice on your own. Coaches are always willing to help.

  7. i never went to any camps or recreation leagues also..if you have a ball go to a nearby park...or if you dont buy one...i really used to suck but then after school i would always go to the courts with my firends and keep practicing...also if you have older and better cousins and friends play with them  because my cousins are like 3-5 years older than me and i would play with them (wouldn't do so good) but then got much better from learning...also take your basketball wherever you go dribble it to there and back..i would always take my basketball to my friends even if it was raining and i knew we wouldn't play and thats how i got better at dribbling-and now im only going to 8th grade but my coach says i might make the varsity team when im in 9th...hope my advice worked

  8. big time camps have been around for decades, but there are plenty of pros out there that didn't go to b-ball camps. you just have to practice extra hard and get invited. if your good enough they'll come to you.

  9. go join your school team.  go to a near basketball court, anywhere with a court and just practice.  get a basketball and dribble around the house, you just want to get real comfortable with the ball, itll make dribbling, shooting, and passing much easier when you have a good feel for the ball.

you dont have to goto camps, go to a rec center and take up lessons if you have to.

  10. wow dude same here

i never did any b-ball leagues or camps or anything

just work hard on a hoop in ur neighborhood

  11. It is YOUR passion and drive that will make you a good player, not how much your parents help.  If you decide that you won't ever be good because your parents won't spend money on it... then you won't.  I'm fairly certain the advent of basketball camp is new.  In "the old days" people got good at basketball by DOING it.  Go to the park, play pickup games...  challenge yourself by playing people who are better or older than you.  Explain that you want to learn, and ask for tips.

You can continue blaming your parents for "not doing anything to make YOU better" or you can get off your *** and MAKE YOURSELF better.  Successful people don't rely on other people to make them great.

  12. if you don't even have a basketball then try strengthening your arms and legs. it will get you started and ready for when that time comes for you to actually play. find friends with same interests as yours in basketball and play with them. playing with friends always makes me feel better and grow as an athlete.

  13. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that it's never your fault.  You are always blaming someone else.

Sack up dude.  All it takes is a ball and a hoop.  Go to your local park and BAM there you go.  It's hard not to find a b-ball hoop somewhere.

Camps cost $$ and I am thinking your parents might not have a lot.  They just can't afford it.  Back off.

Work on your dribbling and your shooting yourself.  Since you have access to a computer youtube basketball drills.  Work on those and save you and your folks some money.  You can have a basketball camp at your nearest hoop.  A lot of the drills you do at camps you don't need a hoop for.

  14. there are poeple who dont even hav parents to take them they learn from playing street ball

how bout u take the camp info2 ur parents n tell dem wht dey need to kno n stuff n make it sound simple n cheap....

i know how u feel b/c my ma is like dat but she changed once i really explained things to her
