I've ben playing for about a year or 2.

Here's my skill level:

at tryouts i got 10/10 on overhand serves, pretty good passes, sets, and hits. i mainly need to work on aggressiveness (if thats a word)

i would really appreciate links to videos of really good volleyball matches so i can learn to get better. or links to pages that give thorough instructions on moves and plays in volleyball.

because im aiming to get on jv this year, but volleyball is HUGE at my school (like 60 people per grade), and i really need to stand out to the coaches (in a good way lol)

thanks!:]

  1. just keep practicing outside and work on the things u need to work on! I play volleyball, and my first year i was bad at my sets but now, i am much better because i practiced almost everyday!

  2. keep practicing every single day.

  3. Hey Ive been playing for going on three years. I am going into 10th grade and after my freshman season I started practicing with varsity. But the best way to become a better player push yourself, be coachable, work extra hard, don't be scared play the ball. And if you want to change your position  tell your coach that you have been focusing on that particular position. Thats what i did. I am a setter and want to become a hitter. So good luck this season.

  4. Well I am sorry, but I dont know of any links, but I can give you adivse. I am really aggresive on the court. Here is what you do:

ALWAYS move no matter where the ball is hit. You get pumped up this way, and then u get into the game!!! Back people up when the ball is hit to them and always chase shanked balls. DONT BE SCARED TO USE YOUR KNEE PADS!

Call the ball as loud as you can!

If you start being aggresive by doing these things, everyone on your team will eventually follow your lead. They will think of you as the leader on the court. When everyone on my team gets fired up, we are UNSTOPPABLE!!! We are amazing and I am sure your team will do the same!

Just work hard and dont let anything hit the ground!!! That is the key to being aggresive!!! Hope this helps.

I am sure if you go to Google Video or Youtube and search volleyball tips or something like that, you will get many links to things that will help you!!! Good Luck.

  5. Keep practicing every day.

To learn to be aggressive, you need to try to get to every ball.  EVERY ball.  If you team mate calls it first, let them have it.  If you call it and they do not, it is yours.

I do not have any links for any videos, but I have a link for some good diagrams on some skills.  Try these to see if they help you any.
