How can i become a dual citizen of us and italy??

hi i was born in the us and i want to keep my us citizenship but also get italian citizenship...i love the italian country and problably would spend a portion of my life there..i am 21 and i really want to know how to do this and where i should go to get it done..so any advice about this is appreciated..thanks

  1. You have a few options, either through marriage or naturalisation which means you have to live in the country for 10 years.


  2. You cant have double citizenship.

  3. The only way to become an Italian citizen without renouncing your US citizenship is if one of your parents was born in Italy, or you were born in Italy to American parents.

    As a US citizen, if you were to pledge allegiance to a foriegn government you lose your US citizenship.

    You don't have to become an Italian citizen to live in Italy.
