  1. work on your foot speed and run a lot, also work on your ball handling skills

  2. Get in a lot of practice. Watch some  of the Pros's  try to copy them.

  3. For ball handling use a Steve Nash exercise (I mentioned this to another question and got bashed, but it's true).  He carried a tennis ball or racquette ball with him in college and dribbled it everywhere.  To classes, around the neighborhood, at the grocery store.  Say what you like the guy has a great handle.

The point about stamina was spot on.  If you want to play organized ball at all, you have to have your wind and muscle endurance.  One thing I did to improve was go to the track and jog the curves and sprint the straights for about 3 miles.  It helped build endurance and foot speed both.  Basketball is about periods of intense speed and long term endurance.  I think your work out should reflect that.

For passing and playmaking, always look for pick-up games with players that are at least a little better and more athletic than you.  If you are younger, look for games with players older than you.  If you are in HS, try gyms and parks near a college for games. If you are in middle school look around your local HS gyms and parks for games.  Most guys will be cool with letting you play.  They may bust your chops the first game or two, but if you play hard and don't back down if you get burned, most will respect you.

  4. You could try by getting off the computer...

  5. be fast increase your stamina practice alot and try to improve your shooting

  6. Practice your ball handling, everyday

  7. point guard isnt realy shooting the ball thats a shooting guard work on your vision dribbling skill passing skill footwork and driving skill

  8. Steps:

You can't be out of shape, which also means that you have to have the most stamina. You should run 2-5 miles, 2-3 times a week. Stamina won't be an issue if you do this.

Most players make the mistake by focusing on their upper body in basketball rather then their lower body. They're wrong. Basketball is all about explosive legs, so you should be doing squats 2 times a week, 4 sets of 5-8 reps, heavy sets. Also, strong shoulders and abs will help you to be more of a scoring threat, so if you do military presses 2 times a week and leg lifts every other day, you will be able to drive to the basket with ease. By the way, if you can squat twice your body weight once, you have enough muscle to dunk easily. Try doing that once or twice a month.

Dribble a lot, as much as you can. Practice dribbling low, with your back straight and with your head up. When you practice dribbling, do it different ways. For example: dribble 15 yards with 2 balls low, then high, then middle. Then, use 1 ball to dribble crossover style, then behind the back, then with spins, etc., etc.

    Tips:

In a game, your number 1 priority is to get the ASSIST rather than the points. Your team won't like you if you just try to score, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to pass it. Trust me, if you make more assists, you will become great at it, and if that happens, you wont need 20 points a game to be the star.

Aim for ten assists a game and around 8 points a game. Imagine how much more simple your role will be on the court. You'll get more minutes, you'll be liked by all your teammates, and you can still be the star of the team.

A good point guard has to be good at dribbling. Practice your dribbling!

    Good Luck

  9. why won't you buy something you cheap b*****d

  10. dribble, work on your stamina, dribble, work on your defense, dribble, and work well with your team...as pg you need to assist.., work on your passing skills, you should still have good shooting skills though.

But mainly ball handling; dribbling and passing, and stamina.

  11. Learn to be a good passer. The PG's main job is to pass so you must be good at passing to be a great PG.
