  1. go to

    http://www.usps.com/employment/

This should help you. If the office in your area isn't hiring try your UPS out for a while to get experience while your waiting.

  2. What was posted by greyhod is accurate,  There is also a substitute mail carrier position in rural areas that is a bit easier to get into.  However you have to live in or near the areas wyere they are needing someone and it is a substitute job not full time permanent work.

  3. you can talk to eney post offes.they mast know.

  4. You could become a TE (temp) or Casual until you take the exam for the test. Just look on this web page for the information or ask your local post office about being a Casual or TE!! NO test required~ You may find it easier to get a job if you work for them and prove your a great worker.

It is sometimes very hard to get a mail carrier job it took my husband 12 long years to get his. He took several tests in many cities. You have to take a test in the city you want to be placed in~ it is not a  statewide or register.

    Good Luck

  5. A mail carrier job is a Federal government job.  You have to take a test at the post office, and pass it with a certain percentage, to qualify for a Federal Postal Carrier's job.  If, in your area, the test is not given at the post office, they should be able to tell you where it is given.  In Iowa, only certain post offices give the test - the ones in larger cities.  If you take the test, and pass it, you will be put on a waiting list for 2 years.  If you don't get a job within the 2 years, you will have to re-take the test.  Hope this helps.
