  1. You won't be able to be an actress if you're not any good at acting (that's what you said, right?) and you're really shy. Sorry, that's just reality.

But if you want to be less shy try smiling at people and talking to them. Pretend to be someone who isn't shy at all....

  2. Only thing I can say is, conquer your fear.  What I find really appealing about acting is that you appear in front of others as someone else...so if you s***w up, it's your character you're embarrassing, not yourself.  To improve your acting, try practicing straighter posture and appearing confident.  Memorize your lines well and be sure to project your voice and not fidget onstage.  Remember that when you're acting, you are your character, so try your best to think and feel as they do.  And remember...never think "I hate this play" at rehearsal.  Think it all you want at home, but at the theatre, be smiling and professional.  Best of luck...knock 'em dead!

  3. Get over the shyness or get over trying to be an actor.

Your first role is to play someone who is not at all shy.

    Ready?

    Curtain !

    (or Lights Camera Action!)

  4. Nicole kidman is really shy too. It's not how you are when you are around people, it's how you act when you are performing. Most great performers are shy people.

However, If you aren't a good actor well then there is nothing you can do about that, you just weren't meant to act. You really don't know though because you have really only done one thing and maybe you didn't really understand it since you are 13 and you were doing shakespeare. I suppose you will just have to try it again.

  5. they might like you more if you use actual words...

BUT one think that I've notices (might be silly XD) is that when i learn a material that I will be using in an audition, I don't just learn it I live and breath it, which makes it easier to be confident because you know what your talking about, not mumbling or feeling shy this is you! you know?

ie: I was learning a monologue and I was thinking how the heck am I gonna be able to say this in front of strangers? Well I know it all now, I feel the passion and lust, the feeling as if I was the speaker...and now I feel like I could say it with the up-most confidence and feel like "no, I know what I'm talking about" although you must always leave room for constructive critsisim.

But my point is: when you know something well you don't have to feel shy. You'll just know that this is what your doing and its as simple as that, and that there would be no point in being shy.

    Hope that helped...

  6. you cant help it if you are shy, if that who you are. it may or may nt get in the way of acting.

and also, stop typing "lyk dis"  its super annoying lol.

  7. You have wasted your money on all those things you signed up for, they will do you no good whatsoever.  Take all the speech and drama classes at school, do all the speech and drama activities, competitions and plays, as you get more experience you will get less shy.  Great actors are not shy, they may like privacy, but that is another thing.  Keep reading Shakespeare, and watch films of his plays.  It will eventually sink in.
