How can i become better friends with the guy i like?

I'm a sophomore in high school. I already talk to him a lot in PE but i cant tell if he likes me back or not...he introduced me to himself on the first day of school (the monday before labor day) and we've been talking/joking around ever since. how can i know for sure if he likes me or not? how can i make myself more interesting to him...i feel like i never have much to say (I'm naturally a little shy :O) also, how can i get closer to him and start hanging out with him after school or at lunch? is it too soon? we've only had 4 PE classes together.

i guess u can just try engaging conversations with him..

like "oh! did u watch blahblahblah.. the girl acting in it was sooo blah!"

or smth lyk that..

then, slowly invite him 4 parties or smth lyk that..

SMILE A LOT!!!

start by having a nice, long conversation. if you talk more with someone the more closer you get. say hi or hey and see how the conversation goes.
