i used to be able to do the splits when i was younger, and i've become a couch potato over the years. i'd really like to be able to do that again! i'm not sure which exercises would be good for this though.

  1. stretch a lot, about ten minutes a day.

yoga and/or pilates would help also.

  2. stretch every day. After 3 to 4 days of streching push your self a little bit further, just dont push too much. id say you will be doing the splits everywhere in a few weeks!

  3. Well to become more flexible gradually, it's just a matter of stretching your body.   When you first start out, don't expect to be able to be able to touch your toes or the floor, haha.  Stretching has lots of benefits too!  It prevents injuries and helps to release muscular tension so you won't feel as sore or stiff.

You want to warm up a bit before you stretch.  March in place, do some jumping jacks, or jump around.  Stretching before warming up can be dangerous.  Here are some exercises that you can do:

Its a great list that shows you how to do some basic stretches, and as you progress, try and do some harder ones.  You  can also search up some stretching routines on youtube, and the internet.

Try stretching everyday for a couple weeks, and I'm sure you'll get some results!  Good for you. for getting off the couch and doing some exercise!

Hope I helped. =)  Good luck!

  4. Stretch an hour a day (Morning & Night)

I'm currently in the process of learning the splits. Today is day 9 for me. =] It really helps!

  5. ok, im a dancer, so i no so many ways to strech!!! you can go from not very flexible to extremely limber in 2 weeks. try the splits, but just until you are a bit uncomfortable. then slightly bounce, but only a little so you dont tear a muscle. then stand up and try to touch your toes. once again, go down until you feel slightly uncomfortable and hold that position. if u want some more stretching tips, e mail me at dancinqueen267@yahoo.com

    hope that helps!
