How can i becume a teacher when im older?

my grandma works as a teacher, and i want to be a teacher too. but for a elementary school level. i know i have years before i can become a teacher(7 YEARS but how would i be able to "start"(get ready) to be a teacher in a couple of years. (im in 6th)

trust me there is no need to start getting ready at all. Most people in your year will not have a clue what they want to be when they're older.....i always wanted to be a chef when i was in 6th but now i want to be in P.E. teacher.

Oh and by the way i am from england so i may speak slightly differently about school....

If you wish to be a primary school teacher then you have to be good at everything so just make sure you concentrate and do well in every lesson.

If you want to be a secondary school teacher (i think its called college in the US....) then its best to concentrate on the thing you wish to teach e.g. P.E. etc. But concentrate in everything else as well.

Dont worry about it, you have a long way to go and all you have to do is do well in school.

I know in some schools there is a club dedicated to future teachers. I believe it's called: Future Teachers of America. Why don't you find you out if there's a chapter in your community, even if it's in the high school. You can let them know of your interest and they may be able to help you.

There's nothing you can really do until your junior/senior of year of high school when you start looking at colleges. Just keep the good grades through high school and do some extracurricular activites. When you get older, start looking to jobs that involve children.

Get ready for college. You will need to go to a 4 year college and get a teaching certificate. Also know that as a teacher you will be required to continue going to college for classes every few years to update your certificate.
