Ok, I want a guinea pig badly, I used to have one about 5 yrs ago, And it was the sweetest thing, It used to squeek when we rattled a bag, And it used to know how to jump into its cage, But it died about two years ago and now i reaaly want another one. My parents always do the excuse "No!" And give no reason behind it, And another one is "You have too many pets!-You dont even take care of your chickens!" Or whatever. I have 17 chickens, And only a few are nice to me, The others try to pluck out my eyes. Anyway, This guinea pig thing is tearing me from the inside out, Ive been crying over it, I just really want a pet that i can hold on my lap and that it wont peck my eyes out. Any Suggestions?

  1. im tryna get MY parents to get ME a guinea pig

and you sound like me!!!!! I WAS CRYING OVER A GUINEA PIG

2 WOW THAT IS SO CRAZYY, umm remind them about when you used to have one and dont just walk up to them and start talking

sit them down and have a mature conversation be real helpful around the house and stuff. And school should be starting soon, do really well if you dont get one bye then

    GOODLUCK

  2. Prove you're responsible.  Take care of the chickens or sell some, because if that's the excuse they give then obviously that's the reason you're not getting one.

  3. keep beging , do loads of research take care of the chickens and explain how much you loved your old one , and start crying about it one night about how much you miss it . good luck . stephanie

  4. Like someone answered previously, research cavies and all their needs. Did you know to take utmost care of a cavy, it costs around $3,000 per year? The average lifespan of a cavy is 5-8 years. Are you prepared to spend $3,000 x 8 = $24,000?

  5. Sit down with your parents tell them how sweet it was with your old guinea pig tell them only a few chickens like you, do research tell them how much you know about them, give it some time it took me a month to get mine ( shes still living ), your right it is the sweetist thing.......Good luck!!! hope for the best!

  6. That is exactly what happened to me. My dog died a few months ago, and we got 3 chickens, but its not the same is it? i used to get them out for hours a day, just sitting with them to try and make friends with them, but they just still try to peck my eyes out, only will let her pick me up. i was like you, but we all missed our dog heaps, so i guess that helped with me getting my two piggies.

Just show them how responsible you can be. Maybe try looking at a shelter piggy, and show them how you are helping abused pigs.

or try to get their reason why, say ' Okay i am not trying to fight or pursuade you, i just want to understand, why dont you want me to get pigs' or whatever you want.

If they cant give you a VALID reason, then say how much you already have. you still have the cage, right? you have the equipment, you have the money, the knowledge, all of that stuff.

they cant make you not get something if there is no VALID reason against it. just like saying 'no you cant'. you should atleast get a reason why you cannot get something that you desperetly want.

Or even, show them this answer if you like, show them what other people think.

one thing- Do NOT whine, or just say ' i want it'. that is just as bad as them saying no with no reason behind it. tell them that you just want something that loves you back, and something you can snuggle up with at night. Give them resons too. and try to keep everything like, 'civalised'. screaming fits dont normally go too well. cryings okay.

sorry about your piggy. good luck with your parents and i hope they see that you are responsible enough and DESERVING  for one.

Wow that was long =D. Email me if you want to

  7. Do a research paper on a guinea pig breed that you would like to get. Then save up enough money as you can to use for the guinea pig. After you have done a paper essay done about that animal, go around and see if any of your friends have guinea pigs. Ask them how hard or easy it is to take good care of them. Hand your parents the paper, and tell them how much money you have saved up. Ask them if they will match it and let you use it to buy the cage, food, and other needs for the piggy. Then go on line and search up how much will all of this roughly cost you. Make sure you have 150$ stashed away for vet bills.
