He seems really sad lately. Plus he just got elected president of this club he has been in for about 5 years... it is a huge honor. But now he says he is not a good person to run things. Help me tell him he rocks please! Any ideas welcome!

  1. Remind him of his strengths - would be best to try and get him to pinpoint them (perhaps in a discrete way), encourage him when he's finding things a little tough (self-doubting) and congratulate every little acheivement!

Maybe you could write him a card - to say well done for being elected - and mention that people had voted him there, so they must believe in him, and tell him you do too :).

Oh and you could try highlighting other peoples downfalls/weaknesses ;).. nobody's perfect & it makes most people feel better to know other people aren't so great.

  2. You have done a good job for some time now. It is up to him to get a grip on life and the feelings he has growing up. You did your best in supporting him anyhow and he will remember that. Keep asking for ideas and get him to do the same and ask for ideas on answers.
