How can i boot my old pc? i think my bios is not set to "automatic boot up" ?

how will i going to set this feature so my pc can boot my Windows Xp on start up.

  1. Huh?  I don't know of any PC that doesn't boot on power up.  If you are getting an error message or a POST code, then there is a problem that you need to solve first.  First check the CD or DVD drives for non-bootable CDs.

    If you still have problems then the BIOS may not be seeing your hard drive. The typical routine is to push the DEL key during bootup.  You may then need to auto detect your hard drive.

    While you are in the BIOS, check the boot sequence, make sure that a bootable brive is part of the sequence.

    Oh! Now I see.  You want to boot the Window XP CD.

    Yes, in that case you need to make sure that the CD or DVD drive is first in the boot sequence.


  2. Do you have a disc in the CD drive or floppy drive?  Try taking it out.


  3. go into you bios, your looking for boot order or something similar, and chech local disk, hard disk as your first boot option, upon failing that you can open up the computer look for a watch battery, take it out and switch it on, switch it off, then put the battery back in, this will set your bios to default
