How can i bring biodiesel to my town?

i'm hoping to bring biodiesel to my town within a few years. it's a small town though, with a lot of trucks that run on diesel. my environmental club at school is really pushing for it, and i'd really like to bring it. any tips?

How many fast foods fry places do u have. U need to get the oil. I am sorry to be so negative but u need the oil before u can filter it. I actually want to promote this as I think that eventually the Arabs will use oil as a weapon against us. The more of these small filter systems we have scattered around as none would make a big target. Good luck.

make your local town/city hall politicians aware of it, and see if you can propose the suggestion at a local town meeting, or if you aren't old enough see if someone else will address it for you.

Look at biodiesel.org for suppliers in your area.  Also fueleconomy.gov has links to finding alternate energy suppliers.  If you use oil heat in your house see if your oil company can supply it.  At the town level, the sewage authority could ban all FOGs (fat, oil, and grease) from the sewage system and instead set up a waste oil depot and processing center.  If anything your DPW could use it.

Biodiesel is something that individuals can brign them selves if you want to bring biodiesel to your town get people to gether that includes people who are going to give the feedstock and those who are going to convert and also a few to maintain quality assurance etc Form a cooperative society. Now print hand books etc that will provide the members of this coperative society with information on BD Then the BD that gets made should be bought by this COOp and sold to customers its not a huge deal. For a start make BD your self run your car on it (get a diesel) PUT a HUGE STICKER ON YOU BUMBER OR WHEREVER YOU WOULD LIKE SAYIN THAT YOUR USING BD and also tell people where they can get information about BD
