I'm 14 and I'm 5'11 and weigh about 145 pounds. I'm want to play receiver for my high school football team. I have great hands and route running skills. I don't have blazing speed but I'm fast. I run a 4.7 in the 40 and next year I want to at least get down to a 4.5. Any workouts that I can do and how many times i should do them? Also , by lifting weights with you legs and stuff, will that help?

  1. 3 reps of 12 to 15 of Squats- 85% weight you can press. Build up your quads, more muscle in your legs to get off of the line.

Go check out at the library, dvds training videos.

  2. Run faster.

  3. You need to run against resistance. Either from one of those giant rubber bands holding you back by a friend or weight jacket. that should make you more explosive.

  4. Add difficulty to your race. Like with a back pack or better. run in the water
