  1. This is an issue of unity.  Basically it takes more energy to produce the HHO (or brown's gas) electrolytically then you would gain from the gas.  When the generator (altenator) is running to produce the HHO it puts so much strain on the engine that you burn more fuel than you save.  You can get more info on this if you google HHO or BROWNS GAS.  Be cautious of those who sell devices on-line that claim otherwise.  You will save more fuel by keeping the pedal off the metal and keeping your vehicle well maintained.

  2. The cost to run it will be more than the gas you think you are going to save.

  3. I’m just about to the point of cut and paste for this type of question

They ALL are CONS. Yes I said CON it’s been around since before the 1970’s. I can go into the math if you wish but in the end you're only getting back less the 20% of the energy that you put in.

And No the alternator isn’t putting out excess power, No it’s not going to burn the 50 PPM (parts per million) of un-burnt hydrocarbons in the exhaust (even if it could you wouldn’t see an increase if fuel mileage).

And this is to all the people who say, you can hook up this or that to your car and you don’t need to install a new alternator, your alternator has excess CAPACITY, that doesn’t mean it producing it. Depending on the load you put on it, your alternator can use 1 to 5 hp from your engine, the more power you use the more power the alternator takes from the engine.

It’s becoming apparent to me the most people were never taught how electric generators/alternators react to an increased load. When I went to school my science teacher had a hand cranked generator and several very small light and switches. Anyone could turn the generator when there wasn’t any light on, but turn just one light on and you could feel how much harder it was to turn the crank. With two lights on only the big guys could turn the crank

Ask yourself this, if it’s so easy and cheap, why are they not on new cars already? Car companies spend millions to get a fraction of a percent better fuel economy out their engine why wouldn’t they just add $5 or less to the price of a car and get the 10 to 50% better fuel mileage?

If you believe that big oil is suppressing the device, think about this, the oil companies would have to kill this device, suppress all the data, buy off every government in EVERY country where cars are built including countries that import ALL their oil. I’ve noticed that big oil hasn’t stopped all the web sites, strange. Not really it doesn’t work so why suppress it.

If you’d like to see the math post and edit.

  4. It is possible to break water into hydrogen and oxygen using a battery or your wall socket when converted from AC to DC.  See water splitting for more.

The problem with this is that it is very energy intensive and the cost of batteries or energy from your supplier may cost more in the long run than just gas.  Also...

...most cars will not run on hydrogen.  In fact it might be cheaper to pay more for gas than to try and convert your car to one of the many alternative types out there.  If the gas prices have you concerned try alternative modes of transportation, like cycling, public transit or car pooling.

It may prove worthwhile to get a hybrid or high efficiency diesel. Many of my friends have them and are very pleased. Good luck.
