  1. You can probably get plans or a kit online.  do a search for "helicopter kit".

but you will need to get a license before you can fly it.

    kits:

    about $100,000 for the kit.

here are some others for about $20000-30000, and parts.

  2. You want an ultra-light helicopter. They need a lightweight engine of about 50HP, typically 18ft diameter rotor, 254lb max weight, 5gal max fuel. There are only a few kits you can build, starting about $15,000 or so.

See link for one in development:

Designing and building one yourself is next to impossible

You might consider a gyrocopter. You might be able to find one used, and get flight instruction for a few thousand dollars.

Either way, this is a fairly dangerous activity. I would be very hesitant to go in either one.

Better yet, contact your local chapter of the EAA. You might be able to get a few rides in a fixed wing  ultralight trainer, or on a powered parachute. These go low and slow, truly a blast!

  3. If you wanna build one from scratch, you would need to buy many materials such as the engines (not unless you want to build the engines yourself!), and the Fuselage, but it would cost tons of money!

A better Idea is to buy a kit which you can assemble yourself. It is cheaper and safer! It would take you a shorter time to build a pre made helicopter than building it from scratch. But you would have to get your licence first before flying it!

SO just buy a helicopter with premade fuselage and parts!

But if you're not up to the challenge, you could always start by making R/C helicopters first before you get into the real deal!!! You could also buy r/c heli kits which cost cheaper than a real heli!!

Good luck and be safe on your heli making!
