How can i burn a movie on a dvd-r?

because if i burn something on a cd-r of dvd-r thers no videos in it just the sound or audio

You need software for that.  If your using Windows, try Nero.  If you have a Mac that came with iLife (all newer Macs do), you can use iDVD.

You have to make sure the videos your burning are dvd player compatible like they have to be vob files. A nice program for making dvds is nero. if your trying to burn a wmv video or avi or any kind just import them into this program and then make some chapters thern burn the movie.
