How can i burn wood?

I have a bonfire but i often have difficulty burning wood, how can i dry the wood etc?

Why not get a brazier or a chimnea to burn the wood in but you will need dry wood to start it off

Time dries wood.  unless you have a $50,000 kiln to heat dry the wood, your' just going to have to wait.

try a shipping pallete or two under your wet wood. or, pour some diesel fuel on it & allow to soak in for a few minutes & then light it. diesel fuel is oil based so it won't go WOOF & burn your eyebrows off.

HAHAHA... i've had a bonfire every night this week.

Start by digging a pit about a meter in diameter, then lay big sticks over the top and small ones over adn under (but not too many). Then put newspaper underneath (lots of newspaper), light teh newspaper and the logs will catch light. Keep adding wood ontop to keep teh fire going :)

Get a good fire going with some dry wood. Then slowly add the wet wood at a rate that will not overwhelm the fire. The fire will dry the wood then it will burn. Keep the logs you are going to use next to the fire so the dry out and just keep feeding them on. The trick is to get a really good fire going initially with enough heat in it to overcome the moisture in the logs.

why not recycle it at your local council tip every borough will have several sites also dont know about your area but south yorks has been a smokeless zone for a long time now if you have a fire here you will get a visit from the fire brigade

put a tarp over it for a few days, if its sunny take it off but at night put it on, the condensation will just make it wet again
