  1. Put some fresh treats or his favorite food in his food bowl in the cage and leave the cage door open.. It will lure him in.. It might take a while but remember to be patient.. Or you could just take a hammer and break the wall down and get him out, but I'm thinking that's not such a good idea! ;)

  2. I've had this happen before.  I put some of his favorite treats by they opening like, lettuce, carrots, and some of his sweet treats like yogies.  this usually got him to get  close enough for me to catch him.  it did take a little while  if he doesn't look like you will get him tonight.  leave the cage open with fresh tasty food in it.  he might climb in.

  3. Use a mousetrap works every time.

  4. Leaving his cage open with food/treats in MAY work; the problem with this is he may just as easily stuff his pouches with the grub, and disappear into the wall again before you ever see him. You have a life, and can't watch all the time, and he is quite likely to avoid coming out until you aren't around.

We've had good success with setting up a bucket near where we think the hamster may emerge, with food inside and some kind of ramp, or steps made of books or something, leading inside. He should climb up out of natural curiosity, twig the tasty supper inside, hop in and not be able to come out again. We've caught errant hamsters very reliably with this method in the past.

Wishing you all the best! Just wondering how did he get out? I'm sure you'll be making sure it doesn't happen again. Hamsters vary enormously though - some can be quite ingenious, compared with the dozy characters others are!
