How can i change a microchip identity on my dog?

hes a one year old beagle and weve now had him for a couple of months. bought from a friend...we have the papers from when he was a pup

  1. The former owner of the pet will need to contact Home Again or Avid (or whatever company has the chip) and change the contact information to reflect you as the new owner.


  2. One of my dogs was already microchipped when he came to me. He had had two owners before me. I had his microchip number which was on his vaccination certificate. I got in contact with the Kennel Club and they, i believe, contacted the person who was registered to his chip. I think they have to do this to make sure that the dog hasn't been stolen. The person registered to the chip has to fill in a form to confirm that they are no longer the owners of the dog. I remember i had to pay to have the chip registered to me, i can't remember how much but it wasn't a huge amount.

  3. go to the vet and they will do everything.
