If you want a photo/picture as your avatar you need to make a yahoo 360 page. http://360.yahoo.com/login.html?.done=ht...

click "my page" then "edit personal photo" then browse upload and save Set as primary. and save. go to your avatar choose your avatar>preview>OK. then go to yahoo>my profile>edit my info then click use my 360 picture>preview then OK.

when using yahoo messenger click on 'actions' tab on the menu,

click on 'send an instant message' and select anyone from the list.

then cick on your avatar

then select 'share my picture' and OK it

your avatar will be changed to the pic. u can do it while chatting with someone too.
