  1. If you have some car ramps ,drive your car up on them and pull the emergency brake to hold car in place. Now get a pan that you can drain your oil into. You will need a oil filter wrench and a wrench to fit the bolt on the side of the oil pan,so you can remove it to drain the oil out.( The wrench that fits that bolt is something like a 15mm wrench,)You might want to remove the oil filter first ,you should see it on one side of the engine ,i believe it's on the back side of the engine.Put your oil filter wrench on the old oil filter and turn it counterclockwise to remove it..Now remove the drain pan bolt and let all the old oil drain out.Once all the oil has drained out , put the bolt back into the drain pan. Now it's time to put the new oil filter on, but first rub some oil on the rubber seal before installing the new oil filter, you need to hand tighten the oil filter , then take the oil filter wrench and turn the oil filter a half turn more. Now that you have all that done you need to put $ qts of oil into the engine , now start the car up and let it run for a few mins. Turn the car off and pull the dipstick out and wipe it off then recheck the oil, you might need to add another half qt.of oil. You have now chang. Way to go.ed your oil

  3. well i take it your integra sits low, so jacking it up might be necessary, under the car toward the front of the engine youl find a nut, it should be labeled, it shouldnt be too hard to find anyway, it is at the bottom of the oil pan, put a bucket underneath, or something...You have to catch the draining oil....to drain the oil, unscrew the nut and oil should come out...If you get the right one:-) it should drian around 4 and a half quarts of oil so have a decent bucket.  when all the oil is drained you will want to change the filter, this is pretty important..I have a 98 civic ex and they are somewhat alike, so the oil filter should be located toward the drivers side of the engine, this has to be unscrewed(can usually be done by hand) then take the new filter and rub some of the newly bought oil on it....that will seal it well anf get decent lubrication to it right away.  once this is all done it is time to put in the oil, make sure the oil plug is screwed back in, or all the new oil will just drain out, at the top of the engine(under the hood) take off the oil cap and pour in the oil, be sure to know the amount of oil your integra takes...my civic takes four and a half quarts i beleive, if your not totally sure, just add oil and keep checking the dipstick intil you are at the adequate level...to much or to little oil can be a problem, so make sure it is done at the right level.  Best of Luck

  4. It's going to cost you $5+ for the filter and $5+ for the oil and more if you get a good brand. Plus, you're going to get really dirty, risk danger by getting under your car that is jacked up and you'll have 4-5 quarts of dirty oil to dispose of properly, which means you'll have to put it in a container and take it to a place that receives used oil.

Now, oil changes places are as low as $11-15 all over the place and everything is done for you. No mess, no danger getting under the car and no driving around find a place to properly dispose of your old oil, like auto parts stores and some gas stations accept it. Now, add in what your time is worth?  If it was $50-100 to change oil, yeah, maybe do it yourself, but trying to save $3-5 dollars and all that trouble and mess to change it yourself?

  5. First, raise your front end on jack stands.  Remove the oil cap on the top of the engine to help empty the oil more quickly.  Then, remove the oil drain plug under the oil pan (put a good-sized bucket or container under the oil pan).  Let the oil drain for about 10 minutes or so.  Replace the drain plug and gasket (if they're stripped or in bad condition, buy a new set).   After this is done, refill the oil through the filler cap.  If you want to change the filter as well, locate it and remove it after you've drained the oil out of the car.  Replace this with a new filter and put some oil around the seal and reinstall it.  Easy as that.

  6. First thing make sure engine is cool remove filler cap on valve cover, remove oil filter from bottom or side of motor, remove drain plug for motor make sure drain plug for motor not trans. after oil is drained replace drain plug tighten but do not strip trust me a lot of work if you strip it... make sure when old filter comes off that rubber o-ring is still on filter if not you may need to scrap off motor do not double o-rings will cause big problem... Hand tighten new oil filter... replace oil that you drained with your make of car I would say four quarts put three and half then check top off if needed... when starting make sure to have oil pressure and check for leaks

  7. 1. jack the car up and secure

    2. remove oil filler cap

    3. place catch pan under oil drain plug

    4. remove drain plug

    5. remove oil filter

    6. after oil is completely drained, replace the drain plug

    7. pour a little bit of oil on the new filter to lubricate and install

    8. fill up your oil(~3.5-4 quarts)
