hi to all, my daughter will be one in a few hours, my problem is that she does not eat regular that much, she might take a couple of spoons, and still what the bottle(which i still give her), but since she is starting to get regular milk now, what should i do? should i force her to eat, and can i give her both regular milk and the infants milk?(more at night) Can i add oatmeal into the regular milk?

  1. we kept our first daughter on formula til she was 2 they make one that is called next step. she will slowly start eating more as she gets older. just try and offer food the same times every day to set a routine. i also would not give milk to drink at or right before meal times. when mine was 1 she would get up at 7 drink a cup of milk then about 10 have some cereal around 12:30 she would eat some pasta or a stage 3 baby food and some stage 2 veggies then a couple hours later she would have some more milk and maybe some crackers then around 6 she'd eat about the same as she did for lunch and then before bed another cup of milk and small snack

  2. try to not feed her purees,  let her feed herself.  She should have been eating table foods on her own for a while now.

If she isn't eating well, I would possibly leave her on formula for a bit longer, until she starts eating at least 3 good meals a day.  My daughter is more a grazer, she eats 3-5 smaller meals a day.

Do not add oatmeal to the milk or formula in her bottle....all you are doing is teaching her to NOT EAT real food...she is getting full from the bottle.

  3. try giving her finger foods and less milk!  She should be eating solid food.
