  1. I agree you need to retrain your habitual thinking.  One way of doing this is as follows:

    1) identify a thought that you struggle with.

    2) get a beat on how frequently and when you think the thought so you will become more aware of it.

    3) ask yourself is there anything inaccurate about the thought (e.g. "everyone hates me" changes to "so and so is upset with me right now, but I still have many friends and so and so may come around."

    4) write the new thought on a card or a piece of paper and read the paper until the new thought takes hold when you would usually think the old thought.

    5) After several weeks of sticking to this discipline your brain will reorder and the new thought will be your default.

    6) It will go back if there are things currently reinforcing the innaccurate thought in your life (e.g. family tends to think that way).

  2. Look at the situation at hand. Look at it realistically. Ask questions like, "Do I have any control over what happens?"

If not, don't worry. Whatever happens will happen.

What I always remind myself is to let go and remember that it's okay. If things to go the way I want, I'll still live, and I can deal with it.

Hope I helped, at least some.

  3. You need to re-train your habitual thinking

When you catch yourself thinking negatively acknowledge it and ask yourself if you could consider thinking in another way /positive way.

Every time you catch yourself just remind yourself that you want to be more positive.   Over time you can change but you have to keep at it until a new habit forms.
