How can i change the color of my windows XP theme?

Question

I don't want to have to download anything... and I know I can change it by doing Windows Classic, or I can use the Olive/Silver/Blue colors they already have, but I'm looking for something where I'll be able to change the color to BLACK

The olive/silver/blue are the only ones available for the more modern looking XP theme without downloads. But you can switch to the older Windows style and customize every single color, from highlights to words to outlines. You can do that in the same spot you change from olive to silver to blue in the modern theme.

The nice shiny looking-curved task bar and start button are not colors you can set.  They are images that are loaded as a total theme package.  This is why the full XP themes (the silver one, and the blue one) are so very specific and not customizable.  You would have to download a new theme to change it and make it look as polished as the default XP theme, the Olive theme, or the silver theme.

As you already know, you can switch to the windows classic look, and change the colors there to whatever you want.. it just won't have that curved/polished look.

So, sorry.  You cannot simply change some settings to make the Olive/Silver/Blue XP specific themes into a black theme.

Hello From The Computer Tech:

You cannot physically change the colour, you have to download a scheme from someone....the absolute bEst for Black is Firefox with Areo Fox theme 3.0.1 It is actually the one I use.
