How can i choose which applications go into my ipod touch?

I just got the 2.0 update for the ipod touch. I bought some apps but i only want 5 of them actually in my ipod right now. how can i only put 5 into my ipod without deleting everything else?

There are no check boxes or anything unlike the music and videos.
