How can i clean a stucco(popcorn) ceiling

we just bought a house and the ceiling above ceiling fan is very dusty. anyone have any helpful hints? thanks

If it's just dusty and not dirty you can vacuum it. Use the little brush that came with your vacuum and not the upholstery brush. The upholstery brush would knock of some of the popcorn. Don't use a swiffer because it will stick to the ceiling. If it's dirty after vacuuming then it needs to be painted.

Maybe you try with paint remover and then sanding

I have often wondered the same thing, but never looked it up.  You have prompted me to do that.  See articles below...there are many more on the web too...just enter "popcorn ceiling" in the search bar. There are  Also articles on removing, re-doing those ceilings.
