  1. .....my kids used 'Sharpie' markers to draw on our hallway walls....heheheh, also they used crayons, and pencils, and food

....so, I scrubbed the crayon to remove the wax...then repainted with "KILZ" primer, from Home Depot, then repaind over the white primer with my favorite off-white color

.....the "KILZ" will cover up 'Sharpie'....and most everything else too...it has very very heavy pigment in it that other 'regular' white primer or flat latex doesn't have

...the time involved in painting over a hallway was minimal compared to spot cleaning and recleaning and experiementing over weeks of time

  2. To clean walls.. I love the desolving sponges.  I think "Mr Clean" came out with the first ones, but I have used off brands too and they work great.

  3. Use just a little Ajax or Comet cleaner on the wall smudges. Don't scrub hard or you'll remove the paint. For the holes in the walls, break off toothpicks in them then seal with toothpaste.  Or, find a sheet of paper near the color of the wall.  Take a strip of it and roll it to fit the hole. Push it in the hole and flatten it out. :)

  4. Put white toothpaste into the nail holes and get a Magic Eraser in the cleaning section of your local grocery.

  5. The cheap way is to use toothpaste to fill the holes, some mildly abrasive cleaner (Jif/Cif etc) to remove the marks, and get a mini sampler paint pot from a DIY shop to touch up any minor paint work.

The more professional way would be polyfilla, sandpaper and the correct paint.

  6. Depends on what kind of paint is on the walls...if its Flat paint, you'll have to touch it up after you wipe the marks off...if its satin or semi gloss, you can lightly wipe with warm rag mixed with water and vinegar

Nails holes should be filled with "Dry-dex" which you can buy at Home Depot....its pink when you put it on, but turns white when dry and ready to be sanded and painted

  7. Any kind of patching putty can be used to cover nail holes. It only costs a few dollars for a small container at any hardware store.

When I get marks on white painted drywall at my house, I use either clear water on a clean sponge first. If that doesn't work, I use a little bit of Top Job and brush the wall lightly with a moistened sponge with that type of cleaner.

  8. OOPS works pretty good for the marks, and I would either use caulking, or white crayon to fill the holes.
