  1. Boil the kettle, pour a full mug of water, add 1/4 tsp of sea salt, leave to cool and use a q-tip or cotton wool to clean gently around the piercing.

  2. If you're looking for a really good and cheep way to clean your piercing, I would suggest some regular old contact lens solution.  You can buy a huge bottle at Walmart for a dollar, and its made from the same thing your tears are, therefore you don't have to worry about having an allergic reaction to it, and its a very gentle cleanser.

As far as changing the stud, its generally 6 to 8 weeks healing time, but you can usually change them after about a month.  Just be very careful.  The inside of the piercing may be healed, meaning that there is skin there, but the new skin is still going to be fragile, and you don't want to take the chance of accidently tearing it.

  3. Buy some sea salt, mix with water to form a mixture as strong as your tears, and swab with a Q-tip twice a day.  I'm surprised the piercing place didn't give you aftercare instructions.  They should have.

I've had a tragus for almost 10 years, and I've never changed it, but for any piercing, you have to wait until it's fully healed to change it.

  4. The easiest way to clean a new piercing is with warm salt water (DO NOT USE ALCOHOL)

    1. Mix a generous amount of salt into some warm water

    2. Apply gently around pierced area with a Q-Tip

    3. Repeat about 2-3 times a day

If you want you can also buy some antiseptic cream from your local pharmacy just as an extra precaution against any infection that may arise. You should apply the cream twice a day only AFTER having cleansed the piercing first.

And yes, you should definitely wait until the piercing is fully healed (about a month for ear piercings) before trying to replace it, otherwise you may cause unnecessary irritation which may lead to an infection.

And when changing your piercing make sure you've properly disinfected (either with a bit of alcohol or salt water) the new piercing before using it; you never know where its been and the area you've pierced might still be a bit sensitive.

    I hope this helps!

P.S. Don't forget to wash your hands

  5. There is a product called H2Ocean that you can buy online or at many places that do piercings.  It is basically a spray can of a salt solution in purified water.  It is not the cheapest way to care for a piercing but it does work great and is very convenient.

  6. the best way to be sure is go back to where you got it dont and ask how to clean it and when can you change it out.. you will get the best answer from the ppl who do the piercings..

  7. Dont try to change it until it is fully healed. I got my bellybutton pierced and they told me to wait 3months. I didnt feel it had healed fully in that time so I waited for 5 or so months, even tho i reaaaly wanted to put in a cute bar!

Clean it with a solution of Sea Salt and water every day. Thatll do the trick; its what my piercist recommended to me and ive never had any kind of infection.

My sister took her piercing out after like 3 months, it got infected really badly and now shes got a REAALLY gross scar and cant wear anything in it.

Its tedious to clean it every day but you get used to it and its worth it. I managed to do it every night while managing to hide it from my mom!!

  8. H2Ocean... Recommended by piercers!

  9. v****a juice (***, wetness) is your body's best cleaning agent.  Finger yourself and get your fingers wet (or a q-tip) then apply to the area of the piercing.  Your welcome and have fun!!!

  10. i used Bactine on every piercing ive ever had, the first day i used it the piercing felt so much better. the sting went away, and it never got infected. I used it with a q tip, also turn the piercing only when its wet, never when its dry, especially if its freshly pierced . good luck

  11. dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and rub it on the piercing. it may sting but it really disinfects it!
