How can i clean my wood fireplace window?

What is the easiest way to clean my wood fireplace window without damaging it?

Hi, I just wet a piece of newspaper and dip it in some of the ash and rub on the glass. It takes off all the gunk on the glass and then i just wipe of the loose stuff with another wet piece of newspaper. Works great! Hope this helps.

We use 409 cleaner and a fine steel wool it doesn't hurt it at all.
