  1. Look in the phone book and call up a criminal defense attorney in your area. Find out that specializes in expungement. (That is a legal term for clearing your record). Laws vary from state to state on expungment. Usually, if it was your one and only crime, you should be able to get it expunged.

    Good luck!

  2. I would contact your governor and explain your situation.  I know there are ways to go about it, I just don't know how.

  3. "In Louisiana, the right to vote is automatically restored upon completion of your sentence of imprisonment, probation, or parole." You need to bring the papers given to you showing you completed your sentence, probation, and parole to the registrar to register to vote.

  4. .   You have a good chance.  Go see the Clerk of the Superior Court and get the papers.  You don't need a lawyer.  It won't happen fast.  Make sure you don't get a DUI while you are waiting or do anything silly. This can work since you have been a good citizen for 5 years.
