  1. If you are using firefox (Mozilla) then go to Tools-Clear Private Data. You can choose which areas you clear as well, and it gives you the shortcut keys.

  2. Give deleteing cookies a go?

  3. If you just wish to clear the information from your searches on search engines (rather than all of the auto-complete information), go to the search engine and double-click on the text field where you enter what you are searching for. This will bring up the master list of all the keywords / phrases you have searched for. Highlight the 1st item on the list and hold the delete key down. This will delete all of the items on the list. This works for both Yahoo and Google.

If you wish to clear out all of the auto-complete information your browser has stored, then:

    Internet Explorer 6:

Go to Tools --> Internet Options.

Select the "Content" tab and click on the "AutoComplete" button.

Then click on the "Clear Forms" button and that will delete the history.

    Firefox 2 and Netscape 9:

press Ctrl + Shift + Del and select "Saved form and search history" and click on "Clear Private Data Now" button.

    Hope this helps
