  1. It's good you asked this, our taxi service has laptops connected to the systems in the car, all clean and thumping.

It's easy to do.  Radio shack has rca-headphone jack cables. Plug one end into the headphone jack on the computer and the other into the input on the amplifier.  You will need a power converter to make the DC amp run from AC house power.

If you are asking about running it through your car then that is simple, too.  You have to either have a casette player or a stereo that allows auxiliary input.  If casette, at walmart you can buy the adapter to plug in a portable cd player to the tape player for less than $10, and they work from the laptop's headphone jack too.

There are little devices made to broadcast whatever the headphone cable is plugged into over the stereo, to a channel that has no other incoming reception, but unless it costs 50 bucks or more they are all staticy and you have to constantly find a new station and are basically junk.

  2. a home amplifier. go to your local home theatre/audio shop and talk to them about it.

they probably wont have a mono (1 channel) to sell that isnt in a package with a subwoofer, but you can talk to them about what kind of prices/models/etc

    then search online and buy
