  1. Well, you need to specify your internet connection type, I nor the rest of the community cannot help you without details or specifics.

    I'm going to assume your on broadband and say that if you have a Ethernet card installed. There is a possibility it is not supported. A way to check this is using the ifconfig command if eth0 is visible then it is working properly. You need to at that point configure it. This is specific to your network and provider. Until more details are provided I cannot help.

  2. I have my computer connected to my network, and therefore to the internet, when I install Linux, and it generally is able to connect as part of the install.

  3. If you use an Ethernet cable, you just need to plug it in. If you use wireless, and your wireless card is supported, you should see a wireless icon on the top right. If the card is not supported you may need to use ndiswrapper.
