How can i contact an authentic japanese katana's blacksmith master?

A japanese one, living in japan would be best. I read that one must be in a waiting list to contact the shop and/or the blacksmith master (just like organs transplant) and that they are very expensive, and also, that they must see if you are worthi enought to get a katana, so i was wondering, how can i contact these people? Anyone know a internet page? I have to go to japan?

Try asking this in the Japan section of Yahoo!answers travel. I imagine all of the katana craftsmen are in Japan and surrounding area.
