  1. 1. Make sure you are sitting right and have good posutre on the drum throne. Make sure your legs are level with the ground. You dont want to sit too HIGH or too LOW over your drum kit. This is for speed control, stamina & leverage. I had alot of bacl problems because I was sitting too high over my drum kit for many years and my double bass drumming suffered big time for it. My feet were always slipping on the pedals and i was missing beats and etc.  So, all I did was adjust my sitting posture and lower my drum throne a little and it worked for me!

    2. Make sure the peals you are using dont have any loose bolts or springs on them. Also make sure the springs are tight and repsonsive when you kick it. That will cause your pedals to be loose sometimes and will cause you to be off key too.

    3. Make sure you have good foot contact with the pedal too.

Start off slow if you have to, and build your calves up from there...but make sure you are hitting the pedal evenly.

    4. Good luck

  2. Hey TRv

First, like a baby, you have to learn to walk and then run. Double pass pedal has a technique which can speed up the double bass pedal fast and efficiently.

You have to play the bass pedal as if you are trying to throw your foot up with the ball of your foot.  The weight of the leg will determine how loud you want to play.

Start slowly, trying to push the pedal like I stated. Itls like trying to throw your foot in the air. Once oyu et the drift, you will see that you are using less energy, more efficiency, more power, and above all, more speed at your disposal.

Start slowly and increase only afte you have mastered 0 to 60 mph and then, 70, 80 90 100 etc...
