How can i convert my loft?

I want to put flooring down in my loft what is the best thing to use and were is the cheapest for the materials? is there anything i should be aware off?.

  1. BnQ sell loft board for a fiver a pack that covers just over 1msq. ItsTnG and a piece of cake to lay


  2. First and most important, make sure the floor is strong enough to withstand the weight!

  3. 1 - get permission to do it.

    2 - you need to deck it out with wood planks. you can carpet over that if you want... just go with the slot together wood planks

    3 - stairs...well, you're on your own if you wanna do that on your own. get help in.

  4. if you are looking to use the loft as a room you will need to get building regulation approval and possibly plannign permission before doing so, if you are just putting a floor down to make it easier to store things up there i would suggest the tongue and groove chip board made specifically for the job you can get it at any of the big diy shops but i normally find wickes are the cheapest for basic materials
