  1. Sometimes  if you soak the pellets in a little juice or water he might sample it.  He probably will eat the pellets if he gets hungry enough, but I dont like the starvation method.  Keep pellets in his dish at all times so he becomes used to the sight and begins to think of this as food

  2. use gradual steps

  3. Don't take away seeds altogether.  Birds are extremely stubborn and will not eat new food.  Birds sometimes will starve to death before eating something new.  Birds are also curious, so in the morning give your bird seeds for 1/2 hour then take them away and put pellets in the dish the rest of the day.  That way your bird will not starve and still be exposed to the pellets.  The first day your bird will probably not do anything with them, but look.  The next day the bird might play with them.  Eventually he should start to eat them.

Do not mix pellets with the seed.  The bird will only eat the seed and skip on the pellets anyway.  Birds do need a variety of food so make sure you are still feeding him some seeds and also fresh fruit and veggies also.  My bird love broccoli and asparagus.

  4. first mix in some pellets with his food for about a week. Then after a week use the pellets with a little bit of seeds. Then with no seeds. Good luck<3
