How can i convert optical audio to 5.1 L/R Center / rear RCA?

Question

I have a Samsung TV with Optical Audio Out. I have a 5.1 Surround sound system with only Right, left, center, rear l/r inputs for 5.1 surround sound. How can i convert it? I see converters that convert it into 1 rca out, but how do i get 5.1 from optical?

You can't. You really need an AV receiver with optical input.

i dont really understand the question but if you a cable box or sat receiver u bring the oiptical from there to ur a/v receiver the optical out on the tv is only if you dont have any sat or cable and ur just watching regular broadcasting ur tv is picking up
