when me and my mom went to the pet store there were these litle guinea pigs i loved! I asked my mom for one and she just said a firm no. I really want one and if she lets me i'm going to use my own money to buy the cage and food and everything. And ideas how to convince my mom to get me one? P.S. I'm using my own money to buy it.

  1. Do you have a mind controlling device? If not, there is no way to manipulate your mother into getting you a guinea pig. You just have to go the hard, honest work way, and do a lot of research, and show your mom that you are knowledgeable enough to take care of them. By the way, you can't have one, they are social, you need two or more. You also need a very large cage, nothing you would find at a store, you have to make it. Plus they are pretty expensive at the vets if they get sick and this can be a couple hundred dollars if they need certain medicine.

  2. Well first your going to want to do a pile of research to show your mom that you are truly interested, and for your own sake of knowledge, and that it's not just a small personal fad.

I recommend saving the money required, and while doing that right a persuasive essay, about the benefits of getting this pet.

And then create a massive pro's and con's list of all the components of Piggies.

Then start acting really responsibly, and show your parents that you can handle the great responsibility, my dad was very skeptical about letting me have gerbils when I first got them, but I showed him my dedication and persistence, and he went from a No way to a yes.

Print off the info about Ginnie pigs, and all the stuff you need to know, and present it to you mom when she's in a generous mood.

Then if you get the Ginnie pigs show your mom consistency, so that she doesn't deny you, and make you take them back to the store :(.

  3. Look over http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.h... and http://www.guineapigcages.com/ for care info first. Pet store guinea pigs are from pet mills and are often sick and missexed and pregnant. They hand out poor care info too. Look at the above sites.

What if the guinea pigs get sick? Who is going to pay for the vet bill?

  4. Ha, I just did that! I wanted a guinea pig and I told my mom that I wanted one and she said no, then a month later I got it. : ) I got him a month ago. Well, just be really good, make a promise that you will do it all. (Just so you know, everything comes to about $150.00 total. You need a cage, bedding, two food bowls (One for pellets, one for fruits and vegetables which they need everyday), a water bottle, an igloo house, food, a chew bar, and a couple toys. Make sure you know that you have to feed it A LOT everyday and clean the cage once a week. It also needs to come out of the cage for at least 30 minutes everyday. Make sure you know the responsibility behind having one. Don't get annoying about it though. Just bring it up every once in a while, otherwise you won't get it. Oh, and the cage has to be at least 3feet by 2feet.

  5. Tell her you'll use ur own money, and care for it, love it, ect...

I own 3! And here's some good thinga bout them:

    -don't bite

    -don't have their own scent

    -no dander (less allergies)

    -sweet and gentle

    -social

    -fairly low-matience for a non-aquatic pet

-lives longer than hamsters and most other rodents

    -their like little bunnies

-will eat almost anything, including veggies, fruits, and non-treated grass.

-They learn not to pee on you as they get older (they try to hold it until they get back to their cage)

    -they can do simple tricks

-they are very affectionate, and will l**k you and purr for you

-all it takes to make them happy is a carrot stick

    -they are comforting

    -their fur is so soft

    -they keep themselves clean

-they Don't need regular vet check-ups

I could go on and on!

Now, here's a picture of my piggie, Guinea:
