How can i convince my mom to let me get a motorcycle permit?

I want to get a motorcycle permit because the price of gas is very expencive, and i cant afford to drive my truck very much. However my mom doesnt like the idea.

I agree with personx64 and Zach B.  If you're not a mature, responsible driver, you have absolutely NO business on a bike.  It's irresponsible children that go out and kill themselves on bikes that give bikes the reputation of being dangerous and destroy parents' lives.  I've been riding for 40+ years and have kids of my own.  If you mom is that adamant about you NOT having a bike, then she MUST have GOOD reason.  Wait until you're of legal age, get a job, move out on your own and then get a bike.

Show her that you have a good driving record and drive safely. This will let her know that you are mature enough to handle a small motorcycle suitable for gas saving. If you are not the safe driver that I assumed you are, you have no business on a motorcycle.

It sounds like You need to do some serious sucking up to her and show her how "cough cough" ultra responsible you are. She doesn't want to see You go out and wrap your brains around a tree and thats all part of being a good parent. If You drive your truck in a reckless manner she already has your number and convincing her will be next to impossible. She is in a catch 22 position. If she gives you the ok and you go out and meet you maker she will never be able to live with herself. Being a mom isn't all sunshine and hagen daz. I ride and fully understand your position but I'm also a parent and I understand hers too. My sons 13 and has been riding for 8 years now because of me. He's amazing on two wheels but I'm scared silly he will want to hit the streets in a couple of years. Loosing him to a motorcycle accident would destroy me because I would forever feel at fault...
