How can i convince my mom to....

Question

let me use make up??? she says im still too young but im 13 and all my friends use it...all i want its to use some mascara,blush, and some foundation.just that. help me convince her.. pls

you should start to ask your mom when your in the store if you can just get one piece of make up like start with the mascara then when she bends on that use that for a little while then the next trip to the store ask for something else and so on but being only 13 that is kinda young so if she says no i know it will be hard for you but just go with it she is your mom and she knows whats best

It's hard for a Mom to let go.  Try sneaking just one of the items you mentioned one at a time maybe on weekends and show her that you don't want to wear too much and she may get used to idea.

In increments. Start by asking for concealer next time you have a zit. That's hard to argue against. Next work up to foundation. Then add blush. And so on. The trick is to have patience and build it up little bit by little bit.

advice? if you have clear skin DO NOT buy foundation it will clog your pores keep your skin beautiful if you can, try a light bronzer it will look good. And ask your mom if she would go for clear mascara? I mean start small, blush you dont need.... just use the bronzer on your sun spots cheek bones a little on the forehead and little on yor chin i just put it all over. Like i said start small and you are young =]

you could propose that you could start out slowly...maybe a little mascara and light eye shadow or something.

thats what i did and my mom didnt even notice!

nd wouldn't go crazy with it, and she was fine with it.

be mature about it...

thats the most important thing, dont complain or argue.

that way you show her that youre old enough to handle this.

Make a compromise. Maybe you can use it on special occasions. Like if you go to a party or a function. I agree with another response I read. maybe she could choose it for you. You are kind of young to wear it everyday. You really shouldn't wear make-up.

I was about your age when I started wearing make up but I think she is right... all of that is too much at once. Start with just a powder compact and wait a little on the rest. It was much easier to talk my mom into that and easier to start gradually using other stuff as I got older.

i know same thing with me!!! i am 13 too.

i told her i want to go to Ulta to buy some eye shadow and stuff.. and she was like why have u become so interested in makeup lately? she doesn't want me to be dressed up and stuff when i am going out in public.. UGHHH i hate it! =[

EDIT: why r some people saying that yes 13 is too young to wear makeup and we shouldn't wear it? wearing makeup makes us prettier, and we have more confidence. if we don't make ourselves pretty, we feel insecure and want to hide ourselves from everyone! u guys don't understand! i have been through this before, and probably so has the other 13 year old girls everywhere!!

you know i think that you're too young to use makeup too. I'm 18 right now and I still didn't start using foundation. But mascara started when I was like 14, and they don't hurt my skin or anything so I don't see why you couldn't use them. Maybe just ask your mom if you could enhance your eyes and make them look brighter, so you'll look better in photos. But foundations and blush...i'd say wait on it

ok so what i do is when its time for school my mom DOSENT allow me to wear eyeliner or mascara...so i said s***w that and bought some make u behind her back then when i got to school goto the br and put it on....and after school hurry and wash it off...be sure to put some baby oil in ur back pack it gets it off eiser and quicker :] hope i helped!

what worked on my mom is that i put makeup on, just something subtle and she liked it and said i could wear makeup as long as i don't go overboard...

13 is old enuf to wear makeup.

cuz i've seen like 9 year olds wearing it.

this is the 21rst century.

Anywas im 13.

and im too scared to ask my madre. so build it up.

like for expample:

Mom my face looks so out of color: would you mind if i used some blush to give it some more color, i hate looking dead.

For mascara, start out asking for a eyelash culer, then be like, would you mind if i got some CLEAR mascara to hold the curl?

Foundation: Mom, my skin tone is uneven would you mind if i used a thin coat of foundation.

tell her why you want to wear it. :)

Ya My Mom Was That Way an i said "Mom I understand your concern about me wearing make up but to me wearing make up makes me feel like i am growing up and i wanna grow up. So may i please wear make up???" thats what i said and it worked but idk if it will work 4 u!

just start taking a few of her makeup things and experiment with it... (see if you really need it) then if you like it show your mom and ask her if it looks to old and ask if you need to tone it down and she says it looks fine then your clear but if she still says you look too old for your age then tell her that you just want to use a few things and make some kind of compromise

i got my mom to let me use eye makeup by going into this mineral makeup store in the mall and getting a more natural type, so it is not all chemicals

I'm in high school, and I don't even wear makeup.

Natural look is best.

A little mascara always looks good though.

Don't wear foundation though, it looks too fake on everyone.

Dont use foundation it will ruin your skin :( .. Ask your mom to pick out nice mineral makeup from cvs/walgreens/walmart/target .. like mascara .. blush .. eyeshadow .. gloss :)

i have the same prob.  but my mom ended up letting me wear it sometime.  im thirteen too.  I just use the basics-mascara, bronzer, coverup, lip gloss (except ive been able to wear lip gloss since i was little and i got my barbie makeup kit!) lol.  Show your mom that it is natural-looking but still flattering. xoxo good luck, beautiful!

I started wearing make up at that exact same age. Talk to her about maybe starting out small; like a little mascara and some lip gloss. I'm sure she wears make up too.

What exactly about make-up bugs her? If she doesn't want you looking like a hussy that's understandable and I'd say ask her for help. The only way to sort this out is to sit down and talk. Tell her why you want to wear make-up, leaving out the 'all my friends do it' line and listen to her concerns.
