Question:

How can i cook a raw potato that is already diced?

ive tried microwaving it in a bowl with a little water and olive oil ...it was there for 3 minutes but still hasnt cooked...any ideas as to what i shud do now??

  1. season with salt and pepper and what ever herb is ur favorite then roast.


  2. 3 minutes won't cook a potato and water and olive oil sounds bland. add some butter, a bit of onion powder, garlic, and celery salt. nuke it for like 15 minutes and add a bit of milk just before eating it. yum!

  3. Drain the water off , put in a large baking pan depending on how much you have( you could cut up more). Slice a small onion put in with it. Pour on enough olive oil to coat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with parsley. Toss a little bit. Cook in oven 400degrees for about 20-30 minutes. Delicious!!  Oh, dont forget to turn the potatoes once during baking and bake uncovered.

  4. boil in water on stove till you can poke a fork in it

  5. Fry them in butter and oil tossing frequently until cooked to you satisfaction and are crispy.

    season and roast them in oven with olive for 20 min or use toaster oven

    leave in microwave add more water and cook 5-10 min more

    1.POTATO-CARROT SOUP

    1/4 c. butter

    2 chicken bouillon cubes

    3 c. diced raw potatoes

    1 tsp. celery salt (or to taste)

    1 1/3 c. evaporated milk

    1 tbsp. flour

    1 med. onion, chopped

    3 c. boiling water

    3 carrots, diced

    1/4 tsp. pepper

    1 bay leaf

    salt, if needed, to taste

    2/3 c. water

    Melt butter in large saucepan; add onion and saute until browned.

    Dissolve bouillon cubes in (3 cups) of boiling water. Add to the onions along with the potatoes and carrots.

    Add bay leaf, salt, celery salt and pepper to taste (more salt may not be needed, depending on how salty your brand of bouillon cubes are).

    Simmer over low heat until potatoes are tender. Stir in evaporated milk.

    Blend 2/3 cup water with flour; stir into soup. Heat and stir until slightly thickened.

    Serves 5 or 6.

    CARROT VICHYSSOISE

    2 c. peeled, diced potatoes

    1 1/4 c. sliced carrots

    1 leek, sliced (white parts only)

    3 c. chicken stock (or 3 cans)

    Salt and pepper to taste

    Dash of nutmeg

    1 c. cream

    1 raw carrot shredded, for garnish

    Place first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender. In a blender puree half of the vegetables and liquid at a time. Season to taste.

    Soup can be served hot or chilled. Just before serving stir in cream. Top with shredded raw carrots and serve. Serves 8.

    HAMBURGER STEW

    1/2 lb. ground beef

    1 onion, chopped

    3 cloves garlic, pressed

    1 carrot, diced

    2 potatoes, diced

    1/4 c. soy sauce

    Pepper to taste

    2 c. raw rice

    1/3 c. oil

    Saute meat with vegetables (onion and garlic) in oil in a Dutch oven. Add the rest of the ingredients and cover with water just to cover. Cook and stir to boiling and let boil, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Stir often. Turn down heat and put on lid to steam for 4-5 more minutes. This tastes like stew, but is so easy.
