he seems to tell you how to do it, just with a ring instead of your line as in your pic.

Simply, its just two mirrors, one that is only one way so some light comes out through it.

It looks like a mirror strip set in front of a wall mirror with candles that cast an infinite reflection (like mirror reflecting mirror does)
