How can i crochet /knit a hat like this?

Do you reccomend crocheting it or knitting it? What type of yarn do you reccomend? Is there a pattern? Any help you could give me would be amazing!

  1. I think it should be croched in a boucle yarn.

  2. this hat is definitely crocheted! They are using dc stitches in a v effect. The pattern is started from the top down in rounds. I would use regular worsted 4ply yarn to experiment first and then fancier yarns later. Try this to get you started:

    Chain 5, dc in 2nd ch from hook, 5 dc in same space, sp st in first dc, ch 3( counts as a dc from here on),[ch1, 1dc in same sp as ch3,*ch1,dc in next dc,ch1,dc in same sp as last dc, repeat from *. to end sl st to top of beg ch 3]. ch3, repeat from [ increacing the v pattern every 3 v's. this is just a general idea. You might need to tweek the pattern to match yours. good luck

  3. The pictured hat is crochet.  I don't know the exact stitch, but here is a similar one in style, so the yarn recommendations would work with your hat.
