If you are unsure, go to a professional.  You can't cut off too much otherwise it will bleed.

Regular nail clippers should work...if you just cut off a little bit.

If you dont want to pay for it i woul use like human stuff (nail filer or even a manicure/pedicure set)no joke my friend bought some kit off of avon and it really works!!!go tto ur local avn seller ha.

By the grit papers that go on perches and they will wear down their nails naturally

take your bird to a pet shop they will problebly do it for you so you don't get hurt.

I recently clipped my birds nails, no vets, no nothing. I can hold my birds and clip their nails, but u should get a rag, hold the bird in it and  support the head. only use baby nail clippers!!!!! hold the feet up to the light and you will see a pink vein. do NOT cut there! cut below it. have a parent help you and email me for more questions! byeee

Well I have done this many times but you have got to only cut the tip off nothing else or father back. It is best to have the VET do it or maybe use a file.

I suggest taking them into a towel very gently but firm enough to keep control of them at this time. I do not suggest doing this clipping yourself because a bird can and sometime will bleed to death from a toe nail clipping.

So the safest way to do this is to buy a few of those LAVA Perches, or maybe put some of those sand paper tubes around the perches they stand on now.

what i do is i grab them with a small cloth once you have grab them they usually stay still so i just flip the cloth to uncover his feet and use a special animal nail cutter that you can get in stores and ...waaallaa!!! all better :) ...it saves you money and a trip to the vet
