You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:

For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom.

If you are worried about internet searches it is pretty straight forward. If you use firefox, go to the "tools" menu at the top and click "clear private data" here you can select what you want to clear (including search history). i recommend you do this anyways if you are selling your computer so valuable information, such as passwords and usernames are not kept on the computer. In internet explorer, you can go to the history menu by doing control+H. here you can see a record of websites you have visited and delete them all. You can also go to "tools" and click "delete browsing history" and will have similar options to the firefox version.
