How can i determine what type of firmnesses are available when looking for a new bed?

i really like the feel of my old bed, but can't tell if it's a firm kind or a soft. what are the descriptions of each type of firmness?

I would lay on them and choose one that feels comfortable.  You can't reproduce something you've broken in for years, but you may be able to get close. You'll have to feel your way!  Temperpedics are great.  They mold to your body and are considered therapeutic support.  You'll just have to try until you buy LOL!!! good luck

Try the Sleep Number bed.  You can adjust it to your heart's content.

Pricey, but well worth it.
