  1. read books.. explore the world.. be part of as many organizations as possible provided that you are really into it and not just a useless member.. watch tv, listen to people..

  2. Get an encyclopedia, or the guiness book of records....they are quite general, but you can always learn something.

Learn a language! you know it's impossible to get a job here in Belgium unless you're trilingual at least.

A language would enable you to travel and experience things first hand.

The way I see people live their lives is this:

You have people that go around in circles. They never learn anything new, they repeat the same stuff again and again, and they have no desire to aspire to be different.

Then you have people that live their lives in a spiral. They learn, they crave new and better and interesting experiences. They grow and leave behind the circle people and find they have nothing in common with them any more and can spot their blindness before they even open their mouths.

You're one of the latter ones, so congratulations: just by seeking knowledge you have broken the circle that you felt you were in.

  3. it is general problem.many ppl have lack of awareness but it can be cured by jst having company of nice educated ppl, seeing news channel, discovery. u can't get all the knowledge in one day experience matters.don't think other ppl have too much of general knowledge they pretend more that they know everything.remember "common sense is very uncommon between common ppl"

  4. The best way to increase your knowledge and wisdom is to learn to be a good listener - volunteer for a senior center and listen to their stories and advice. Volunteer to read to an elder - read the newspaper and magazines or ask their favorite book growing up - get the book from the library and read it to them. Ask questions and LISTEN - Volunteer at a library - interacting with people from all walks of life and having the resource at your finger tips will help you learn an immense amount of information.

If you're not a people person, pick a topic any topic and type it in to google or yahoo any search engine really, and just start reading, the internet has an amazing amount of information available, you'll end up clicking on links within links and trust me you'll find a ton of interesting facts and new passions.

  5. Read. Read whatever you want -- novels, non-fiction, magazines, graphic novels, whatever -- but read regularly. Read at least 30 minutes **every** day. My favorite time to read is the hour before I go to sleep. It may sound simplistic, but I assure you, it works. Not only will you become more knowledgeable about a variety of things, not only will your vocabulary and grammar improve dramatically, you will also hone your abilities to concentrate, something that I find very much lacking among many job candidates I interview. You will also become better and better at retaining information. And the more you read, the fast you will read, and the more you will comprehend from reading.

  6. Talk to People,Go to a library read,Newspapers,Go to your local Tafe,Read some pamplets on different courses...Maybe there might be a course you'd like to do either in the daytime or at night....Knowledge cames from life's experiences,Travel.Understanding people, and mixing with different types of people. Each Day if you learn something new, that is Knowledge in itself.....Now depends on what you mean by "broad-mind", That can mean so many things, such as broaden your mind, travel wise...Sometimes untill you feel you are ready to broarden your mind in other area's,Its not worth going down that Path....Just be happy being you,you are smart,Otherwise you wouldn't be asking Questions....

  7. question is very broad though u don't have bm.

general things knowledge comes only out of experience, books, people. if specific can give reply better.

  8. to develop ur G.K i think u should watch tv channels like discovery channel or u can simply read different kind of answers here on yahoo answers!! many people ask interesting questions...so u can read them!!

otherwise u should visit different G.K sites!!

i don't know wht else i can say......

  9. read yahoo answers answers a lot are trivial but some have good information.

  10. Cultivate curiosity-take time to wonder about the things you see or hear. Ask questions. Use libraries, internet searches, and other resources to read about the things you wonder about or don't have answers for. Try not to assume things...search for tangible evidence to support or disprove your assumptions.

Try new ways of doing things, do something you've never done before, visit a place you've never been, seek out people or groups you've not spent time with, read a book you've not read before, see a movie-play-concert-or sporting event you haven't seen before, go to a type of restaurant you've not tried before, change your normal routine in some way-observe your surroundings-and write about the differences you've noticed.

Attend Public Hearings, attend a political debate, take a class, attend a lecture, attend a workshop, join a Toastmaster's group, volunteer in your community, attend events sponsored by religious groups, join or start a Neighborhood Association, attend festivals and fairs-visit the exhibits-ask questions, visit Science Centers-Libraries-Museums or Parks or History Centers, take a group tour, read local newspapers, read guidebooks, read magazines, use a map to plot a trip and then go on the trip.

Play! Make time to do things just because it is fun. Learn to dance (or learn a new dance), take walks around interesting places, listen to or perform music, play games, plant a garden, ride a bike, join an recreational sports team, paint, draw, decorate a sidewalk using chalk, go to a planetarium one night and look through a telescope, use a camera and photograph anything that strikes your fancy, go swimming-or better yet scuba diving, lay in a hammock under a tree and daydream.

The more we dream and explore, the wider our views will likely be........

  11. do not worry about that. its just small thing. keep watching nice english channels. to be broad minded think before you act, dont jump to conclusions, try not to get frustrated at smallere things in life.
