How can i do effects on my saxophone?

i have been playing for about 5 years now and still haven't learned the basics. i can do somewhat of a vibrato and a little bend or two. can someone help? i love it when i hear someone "growl" with their sax its so awesome! does anyone know how to do that?

Ive been playing sax for about 8 years now, The way I growl is I put my tougne above the reed to give it more room to vibrate and then you sort of sing into the instrument to make the growling affect. it is hard to explain in words............but if you want to learn how to bend a note all you need to do is change your are speed....keep the same amount of air going into the horn just change the speed.....the faster the air the sharper the sound....the slower the air the flater the sound.

    And if you want to try vibrato it's basically the same thing as bending the note except 100 times faster. You are going to have to change your air speed as well as move your chin up and down. All vibrato is, is rapidly changing the pitch of the note.
